Holland.com leads the Way
writes Karin on FastenYourSeatbelts and after having taken a look at the new site, I give the Dutch some points for jumping quite early on what likely over the next months will become an increasingly crowded bandwagon of web 2.0 initiatives by DMOs as you can read on Jens Thraenhart’s latest blog entry.
The execution, however, leaves me less enthusiastic, starting with the terminology first. Why write about 2.0 on the site? Potential visitors do either not know what the expression means, and more importantly they don’t care. Also, in the first sentence it talks of “all the fuss about the new site”. What fuss, exactly? And, again who cares expect maybe they and their smart agency…..!
It’s a step in the right direction and the site includes innovative features but it also looks like every new cool tech feature has been included, sometimes more for show than for usability and effectiveness.
