California Fives – California Travel and Tourism Commission UGC Initiative
Claimed to be the Yelp and TripAdvisor for discovering the state. A first look tells me that it is a welcome addition to the usual approach.
What’s lacking is the functionality to link to the results on the lists presented. I’ve only seen one allowing that. What’s the use of presenting recommendations then? I don’t want to go searching for that particular location, service or event.
Content is fine, and there is often more than the traveler needs. What’s required is linked data that is actionable. Good attempt but needs more thought to make it truly useful tool.
